'Celebrate My Birthday By Supporting The Weak And Infirm' - Governor Fashola
Jun 26, 2007 - It has come to the attention of the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), that several individuals and groups plan to place congratulatory adverts in the print and electronic media to mark his 44th birthday on Thursday, June 28th, 2007.
The Governor deeply appreciates this gesture of love and support but believes that he must devote all his time and energy to serving the people of Lagos state with seriousness and purpose. This is the only way that His Excellency can effectively deliver on his mandate and achieve his goal of elevating the State to a higher pedestal of excellence.
It is thus His Excellency's desire that no congratulatory birthday adverts be placed in his honour in either the print or electronic media. Rather, he calls on all individuals and organizations who intend to place such adverts to donate the funds meant for that purpose to the social welfare institutions that cater for the disadvantaged members of society in the state.
