Golden Jubilee Celebration Of Oke–Ado Baptist Church, Ibadan, Oyo State And Dedication Of Its Multipurpose Hall

Nov 29, 2008 - Fifty years is significant in the life of any organization, especially an organization that have over the years impacted positively on the lives of the people and remained committed to its primary objective of winning souls into the kingdom of God. Indeed, you have every cause to thank God and appreciate His mercies and loving kindness towards His people. I congratulate the presiding Pastor, elders and the entire membership of the Oke-Ado Baptist Church on this occasion.

Like the proverbial mustard seed, Oke-Ado Baptist Church, Ibadan has in the past five decades grown in leaps and bounds, providing spiritual guide to the numerous flock within its fold. It is therefore understandable, the outflow of joy, and fulfillment elicited on this occasion, among members of this congregation.

What we are witnessing here today is testimony of years of devotion, dedication and commitment by members to worthy project. The new multipurpose hall being dedicated here today is in furtherance of the gospel of Christ and an attestation to the goodness of God, in this great assembly. I commend your efforts at ensuring the successful completion of the hall, and do hope that the multipurpose hall will add value and colour to various functions and church activities within the premises.

While congratulating you for having come this far, I urge you to keep up the good work and remain steadfast in the worship of the Almighty God and the service of your immediate and larger community. As individual member of the society, you have a great role to play in the development of the society, it is therefore essential to always ensure that you bring to bear in all your actions and deeds, the basic tenets, principles and doctrines as contained in the holy book. That way you will be a practical Disciples of Christ.

In the same vein, the church as an integral part of the society is vital and crucial to socio-economic and political integration in the society. Like every other religion, Christianity, provides the enabling platform for our spiritual edification and social needs as individual members of the society, by creating the social environment through which people of various ethnic and social background interact almost on a daily basis.

In view of its importance, especially in a multi religious society such as ours, I urge you all to employ Religion as a veritable tool for social integration, and harmonious co-existence in the society. As we continuously demonstrate unity and oneness of purpose in our service and devotions to our creator in our various places of worship, I challenge you all and various religious leaders to replicate the unity we often display in our place of worship in the larger society.

We must continue to demonstrate love and kindness towards one another as part of our religious and social obligations towards God and fellow human beings. The time has indeed come for every one of us to employ religion as a vehicle to achieve peace and unity in our society.

Once again, I congratulate the presiding Pastor, board of trustees, elders and the entire membership of this congregation on this remarkable achievement and wish you all many more fruitful years in His vineyard.

May the peace of the Lord continue to abide with you all.

Thank you for listening and God bless.
