Fashola Swears In Three New Perm Secs, Charges Them To Do Justice To All
May 18, 2009 - Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Monday swore in three Permanent Secretaries and Tutors General into the State Public Service with a charge that they must always do justice to everyone irrespective of creed or colour.
Speaking while administering the oath of office on Mrs Aramide Masha, Mr Ayobami Obajimi and Mrs Ajibike Ogunsanwo at the Lagos House, Ikeja, Governor Fashola added that they must always remember that public office is a public trust.
He reiterated that all those who get the opportunity to serve must recognize that they are accountable to the public and must be ready to do justice to all manner of people stressing that they cannot chose who they want to serve.
Governor Fashola said the ceremony represents an auspicious one because serving Principals who are builders of nations and moulders of characters and nations have been given the opportunity to reach the peak of their career.
The Lagos State helmsman said the ceremony is the implementation of a law by the immediate past administration to create a new career for teachers and recognition of the unquantifiable contribution to the State and Nation.
The Governor added that the State intends to ensure that rewards of teachers are no longer in heaven but that they will be given as much.
Those sworn in include Mrs Aramide Masha as a Permanent Secretary in the Public Service, Mr Ayobami Obajimi and Mrs Ajibike Ogunsanwo as Tutors General and Permanent Secretary.
