Fashola Re-Appoints Prof. Hussein As LASU VC

Jun 5, 2009 - Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has approved the re-appointment of Professor Lateef Akanni Hussein as the Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU) for the second term of four years.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barrister Opeyemi Bamidele, who announced the reappointment Friday, said the world renowned Physicist was reappointed based on the recommendation of the Joint Council/Senate Election Committee for the Post of Vice Chancellor of LASU.

In a Press Statement signed by him, the Commissioner, who recalled that Professor Hussein was first appointed to the position in 2005, said the institution has continued to witness rapid transformation under his leadership.

Governor Fashola, according to the statement, wished the distinguished academic and administrator successful second term tenure.
