GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE

EXECUTIVE ORDER (NO. EO/BRF/015 OF 2009)

TO:          HONOURABLE ATTORNEY GENERAL

SUBJECT: CONDEMNED CONVICTS ON DEATH ROW

PREAMBLE:
In the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by virtue of the provisions of Section 212 (1) of 1999 Constitution relating to prerogative of mercy pertaining to condemned convicts. I hereby make the Orders contained hereafter.

NOW THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED:
a. that the recommendations contained in paragraphs 1, 2. 3. 4 and 6 of the Memorandum of the Honourable Attorney General dated June 8, 2009 and attached as Annexure I hereto are approved; and

b. that the recommendations be implemented in accordance with attached table marked as Annexure II.

Please give this order the widest publicity that it deserves.

This order is intended to improve the internal management of the State Government and is not intended to, or does not create any rights or benefits. substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by a party against Lagos State. its departments, agencies or entities, its officers. employers or agents or any other person.
