Golden Jubilee Anniversary Of Mount Shiloh Praying Band Of The Holy Cherubim And Seraphim Church (Inc)

Jun 29, 2009 - It is a thing of joy for me today to felicitate with you on the occasion of your anniversary. I have a deep respect for religious institutions in our society simply because of the critical roles they play in our lives as individuals and collectively as a corporate entity. There is no doubt that churches constitute an important social institution engaged in the service of humanity through powerful representative that helps to the conservation and sustenance of important social and moral values that help to sustain our society. 50 years in the life of any organizations is often a cause for celebration, especially when the organization is engaged in raising standard and values to contribute to the betterment of the living conditions of humanity.

Permit me therefore Ladies and Gentlemen, to congratulate the Spiritual Head, His Grace Baba Aladura, Dr. J.O. Philips, the Chairman of the anniversary committee and the entire membership of the Church, on the success of the Golden Jubilee celebration of this Church.

Occasion of this nature unarguably affords us the opportunity to reflect on our activities over the years and their impacts on our immediate and larger communities. Are we indeed fulfilling the purpose of our existence?

Are we as individuals and corporate body acting out the tenets of our faith? What impacts have we made on our neighbors and society in showing examples of people of God? Are we different from others who flout traffic rules? Refuse to pay taxes. I want to believe that some of us are true people of God, acting and living out our faith.

Mount Shiloh Praying Band of Cherubim and Seraphim Church under the leadership of its founding leader and spiritual head, His Grace Baba Aladura Dr. Philips, has been actively involved in works of charity, social welfare, rehabilitation and medical care. It is therefore not surprising that the church has remained focused and committed to the spiritual upliftment of members worldwide.

Therefore, on behalf of my darling wife and the entire people of Lagos State, I congratulate you for your contribution to the progress of our country through teaching and preaching.

It is my candid opinion that the celebration would propel the church to greater heights with a fresh commitment towards adding value to the lives of its members.

It is my belief that this is an urgent time that the country requires the prayer and intellectual contributions of our religious leaders for a desired change in our polity as a guide to the future generation.

As a government, we sincerely appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the residents of Lagos State for the past 2 years in office. We specially commend the invaluable contributions of our religious leaders for living in harmony and guide their followers to have crisis-free State. They have indisputably showed that religion remains the only tool for social integration, and harmonious co- existence in the State.

That is why it was possible for us as a government to serve the people of Lagos State whole heartedly in the past 757 days of our administration.

We hereby urge our Christian leaders not to relent in their efforts to cater for the spiritual needs of the Christian fold under their care and also use various platforms to encourage our people to support our various initiatives that will make life easier for everybody.

Once again, I congratulate the Founder and Spiritual Head, His Grace Baba Aladura Dr. J.O. Philips, the anniversary committee and the entire congregation of the Church for the success of this event.

May the peace of God continue to abide with you all.
