Lagos Will Remain Peaceful, Safe For All - Fashola
Aug 5, 2009 - Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Wednesday assured Lagosians that the State would remain safe and peaceful for all men and women of goodwill saying that there is space for all to conduct their legitimate businesses in peace.
Governor Fashola, who fielded questions from Airport Correspondents at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja on arrival from Abuja, said Lagos residents are so heterogeneous and inter-related that there would be no problem among the people.
“Lagos will remain a peaceful State, a State that is safe for all men and women of goodwill to lawfully go about their duties and aspirations in peaceful co-existence”, the Governor said and appealed to the people to continue living in peaceful co-existence.
According to him, “It is that co-existence that has brought us this far and will take us even further”.
Speaking on on-going projects in the State, Governor Fashola, who said that work is in progress across the State, told the Correspondents, “We are working, as you can see. Everywhere you go, you will see the evidence of our work”, adding that his administration will have another opportunity tomorrow to render an account of its stewardship in the last 100 days.
