Feb 9, 2010 - Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola SAN, Tuesday condoled with victims of the Oko-Baba fire disaster and directed them to register their names at the Ebute Metta Local Government Council in order to enable the State Government assist in cushioning their loss.
Governor Fashola, who spoke when he visited the settlement for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage done by the fire which ravaged the settlement at the weekend, promised that the State Government was concerned about the tragedy and would do all in its power to ameliorate the sufferings of the victims.
The Governor, who expressed gratitude to God that there was no loss of life in the fire incident, urged the people to cooperate with the Local Council officials in the exercise of registering their names and their properties lost in the inferno.
