Fashola, Okunnu, Others Honour Onisarotu At 80

Mar 19, 2010 - Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN) on Friday joined many prominent and notable Lagosians like the first town clerk of Lagos, Senator Habib Fashinro, former Minister of Works, Alhaji Femi Okunnu (SAN) and Baba Adinni of Lagos, Sheikh Hafiz Abou to felicitate with the President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Bisiriyu Olatunji Onisarotu on his eightieth birthday.

Speaking at the event which took place at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Central Mosque in Ajao Street, Surulere, Governor Fashola described Alhaji Onisarotu as a man of character, integrity, honesty, hardwork and Godliness.

Governor Fashola said as a former staff of the State Board of Internal Revenue and as a former Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Alhaji Onisarotu has left very enduring legacies of honesty, diligence and commitment to public service.

He noted that as the current President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, the celebrant has been a good ambassador, a mentor and a father figure who has touched many lives.

He congratulated the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society for the attainment of its national leader and prayed for good health for Alhaji Onisarotu.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion and elderstatesman, Alhaji Habib Fashinro congratulated the celebrant for his selflessness, adding that the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society has witnessed positive growth and development during his leadership period.

Governor Fashola later presented a birthday card to the celebrant at the event which also featured Quranic recitation and special prayers for Alhaji Onisarotu.
