Fashola Commiserates With The Sun Over Fire Incident

Jul 3, 2010 - Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has expressed shock and heartfelt sympathy to the Board, Management and staff of The Sun Publishing Limited over last Tuesday's fire incident at its Kirikiri Industrial Layout, Apapa Corporate Headquarters.

In a letter signed on his behalf by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele, the Governor said it is saddening that the Sun Publishing Limited could experience such a colossal loss of property particularly at this period when it seemed to be deploying all its resources to consolidate its impact in the nation's Newspaper Industry.

Said he: "However, we thank Almighty God that no life was lost in the incident but only materials which are replaceable. Without doubt, given the versatility of your newspaper and its reach nationwide, the company will bounce back in no distant future while also satisfying your teeming readers".

The Governor said the Company's Staff and Management has the prayers of the Government and people of Lagos State and that the Good Lord will support them at this period by cushioning the loss.
